Solarization

Solarization, also known as the Sabattier effect, is a photographic process that involves partially reversing the tones of a print or negative in the darkroom, creating an arresting image with altered shadows, highlights, and mid-tones. These images were made by briefly re-exposing the photograph while still in the developer.
